Health Equity Series:
Partnering with Communities of Color to Mitigate COVID-19
It has been over a year since COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. The spread of disease has demonstrated the deep disparities and inequality in the social and political determinants of health for Black and Brown children, youth, and adults that contribute to increased risk of COVID-19 infection and serious illness or death.
During these unprecedented times, social policies must prioritize equity and justice. During this webinar with the Association for University Centers on Disabilities, participants will learn best practices and evidence-based strategies to foster partnerships among community-based organizations and other stakeholders to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Partnerships that apply whole-person, whole community approaches to public health can strengthen the physical, mental, and social well-being of historically marginalized communities of color. Join us in this conversion about mitigating COVID-19 and helping residents become resilient and better able to thrive in the future.
About the National COVID-19 Resiliency Network (NCRN)
This is the third of three webinars presented by the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities and Council on Accreditation (COA) in partnership with NCRN. With the critical goal of improving social determinants through health equity, this partnership will mobilize community-based organizations across the U.S. to mitigate the negative impact of COVID-19 on racial and ethnic minority and American Indian and Alaska Native communities that are disproportionately impacted through disseminating culturally and linguistically relevant resources to the hardest hit communities.
