Peter Metzger 
Learning Solutions Manager 
Social Current 

Peter Metzger is the learning solutions manager at Social Current. In this role, he manages projects related to how Social Current distributes learning, including Social Current’s Learning Management System (LMS). In addition to the LMS, he works with external subject matter experts to provide customized consultation to over 100 Social Current network organizations. This consultation includes online learning technical design, strategic planning, and fund development. 

Metzger previously worked as a development analyst and writer for Ways to Work, a community development financial institution of the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, a predecessor organization of Social Current. In this role, he worked to secure new capital, develop reporting mechanisms to investors and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and analyze data on low-to-moderate income consumers of Ways to Work projects. Metzger also worked with over 40 local organizations in developing fundraising strategies to bring Ways to Work to their local communities. Before joining the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, Metzger worked in fund development and public policy for the Social Development Commission, Milwaukee’s Community Action Agency.  

He currently serves as a community advisor to the Bay View Community Center of Milwaukee. He holds a bachelor’s in English and a certification in urban studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s in nonprofit administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport.
